Silence. Got much?
Not most people.
But when I have gotten it I can tell something important happens.
Beth and I have both recognized this. That's why we've tried to build rhythms of silence or just peace into our lives.
Most mornings, during the week, we each have our own time alone to read, reflect, journal, pray, and just be.
It doesn't happen every morning, but we at least shoot for it.
That time makes everything we do fit into the big picture. It helps us find strength from a divine Father to face the 'everyday stuff.'
Could you use a little silence? A little connection?
Could it be time to choose a little silence, a little peace, a little space?
Set the alarm a few minutes earlier, work harder to get the kids down a little earlier, or put off that chore for a few minutes. The challenge of doing that (and, trust me, I know that's a challenge) may pale in comparison to the life you could find and the love you could then give to your spouse with a few daily moments of silence and rest.
