After the wedding dress goes in the closet

Here's a little clip from Jamie & Mike's upcoming wedding film!  We had the chance to do a romantic film shoot at the trendy and fun East 4th Street area.

Isn't it funny how we prize each other like diamonds when walking down the middle of a street in our wedding clothes, but after a few years, and after we've put the wedding dress in the closet, we forget to still cherish the bride or to cling to the groom?

For those of us way down the anniversary line, let us take a cue from this couple and from Solomon, the ancient Jewish wise man and king: "Rejoice in the wife of your youth."

Maria & Bobby's Wedding Highlight

We cannot tell you how delighted we were to have the honor of capturing Maria and Bobby's wedding day.  We loved the Greek culture and all the symbolism given to the ceremony at St. Demetrios.  We were in awe of the spirited dancing as The Fabulous Grecian Keys rocked away the night at The Renaissance Hotel.  The most special moment came when Bobby and his groomsmen pulled off a surprise choreographed dance (to over 5 different songs!) while Maria sat in a chair to be serenaded.  All in all, their commitment to God, each other, and their family was deeply moving.  Enjoy this snapshot of their day.

Our first Greek wedding!

Last weekend we filmed our first Greek wedding!  It was fascinating!  The service at St. Demetrios included the wearing of crowns, the bride's godmother placing the rings on Maria and Bobby, a chanter, and the priest leading the couple around a table with almonds!

In the morning we had the chance to see Maria and her bridesmaids getting ready at the salon, Fringe and Foundation, in Westlake.  Here's a little video we shot on our iPhone at the salon, capped off with a quick shot of the Maria and Bobby after they tied the knot.

A website is coming...for real!!!

Some of you know that we have been on this journey of developing a wedding videography business for a few years, but alas, minus a good website.

Well, the wait is nearly over!  (You were all waiting, right?).  Next weekend we will officially announce our new site and hope you will all come check it out!  There will be promotions, fireworks, candy bags, Presidential visits, creepy carnival rides...ok, but there will be promotions!  Especially for you or your friends who may be looking for a downright awesome wedding film!

Bradly & Lauren's Wedding Film!

Beth and I simply loved getting to know Bradly and Lauren.  They just, well, enjoyed each other!  And you can see it and feel it.  It was a pleasure to be a part of their big day.  When we had them over our house before the wedding to talk about their film it was fun to hear them share how much they love to just be together and talk and talk.

One of our favorite moments was catching Lauren's sister Melissa's face as she looked over at Brad's beaming face as he watched his bride walk down the aisle.  Another one of our favorite moments was when Lauren's dad danced with his daughter.  They started out doing the traditional slow dance and then, without notice, broke into a full-out rockin' boogie!

Congratulations again, Bradly and Lauren!

Bradly and Lauren's Wedding Film Teaser

Lauren and Bradly told us, a week before their wedding, that "the simple things in life make us happy."  Here is a little wedding film teaser of just how beautiful the simple things can be.

Chris & Hope's Wedding Film!

Chris and Hope's wedding mixed the beauty of tradition and uniqueness.  It was our first wedding of this summer with the ceremony inside a church, Messiah Lutheran.  Several of the most powerful moments of the day happened there as we saw both of their sets of parents worshipping with passionate hearts and contented smiles.  Our favorites, though, were catching Chris looking heavenward and Hope, eyes closed in prayer, and basking in the pleasure of God's love.  The best part is to have actually caught this on camera too!

Then the uniqueness began as we celebrated their reception at The Fuller House at Bay Arts.  Moved from its original location by barge on Lake Erie in 1984, this historical home has been converted to the most unique ceremony location we have seen this year.  It was adorned with so many little details, chalk signs, nooks and crannies, and twinkly lights!

The miracle of the day was the fact that it rained-and I mean rained-all morning.  The forecast said to expect that rain straight through to the reception.  Well, low and behold, shortly before the arrival of Chris and Hope at the church, it tapered off.  We were able to film them outside at Huntington Beach and in a lovely wildflower field with nary a drop!

Will & Morgan's Wedding Film!

You couldn't have asked for a more stunning, summer day for a wedding when Will and Morgan got married outdoors with a glistening Lake Erie as a backdrop.  Then we got to catch them on film as they walked the wooded grounds of Camp Luther.  After a stop at the brewery where they met, we headed off to a reception full of surprise choreography, dance antics, and lots of laughter.

Enjoy their wedding film as much as we enjoyed producing it!

You've got to see this wedding...

A few weeks ago we mentioned a couple that was going to get married at, of all places, a camp!  Well, let me tell you, when we drove into that camp to film the wedding, not knowing what to expect, Beth and I were simply stunned by the beauty of the setting.

Dan and Lauren's Video Teaser

It has been so fun to edit Dan and Lauren's lovely wedding.  With the finished film complete, we thought we would give a little teaser and let you see their "first look."

Honestly, Beth and I have mentioned to others the enjoyment and gentleness between these two numerous times.  You can see it even in these few shots.

Our partners at Imagine It Photography just put out a sneak peek of Dan and Lauren's wedding that we filmed recently.  Take at look a just a few of the gorgeous photos and this gorgeous couple! 

We are working on the fine-tune details now of their wedding film and hope to get a sneak peek of it up soon.  It's beautiful...if we do say so ourselves!

This shows the Hava Negila dance, a tradition where the bride and groom are hoisted up (precariously!) on chairs and pumped up and down.  It was crazy-and fun!  The Hebrew song was composed in the 1920s when Hebrew was being revived as a common language.  Deep tradition and deep laughter make for a delightful experience!

The Key to Marital Bliss: The Ohio State Buckeyes?!

If there is one key to marital bliss, what would it be?

We're not sure, but a key to wedding day bliss for Ohio State graduates has got to be to have The Ohio State Alumni Band play at your reception!

We had the privilege of filming Lauren and Dan's wedding this past Saturday.  We enjoyed being a part of many firsts for us that day, like seeing our first ketubah ceremony, our first wedding under a chuppah,  but certainly the most exuberant part of that lovely day was seeing the crowd quite literally go nuts dancing and singing along with The Ohio State Alumni band.

Lauren and Dan met at Ohio State and brought their love for the Buckeyes to full form to celebrate their union.  Here's a small clip of the fun!

Getting married in a mansion in Cleveland

Did you ever dream of getting married at a castle, a palace, or a mansion?

Well, the Western Reserve Historical Society is pretty darn close.

When I heard we would be filming a wedding there, my first thought was: Isn't that the place with the car museum?

Indeed it is, but I had no idea that they also had this amazing courtyard perfect for a pristine, intimate, yet royal wedding.

The Western Reserve Historical Society is actually housed in an Italian-renaissance style mansion built in 1911.

For Alex and Sloane's wedding, the bride and her bridesmaids get themselves ready in the old library, adorned with books, and thick wood-paneled doors.  They exited into the former main hallway, past sweeping stairways and a stone fireplace, and then out the double doors, graced with wrought iron gates to reveal the former gardens.  There the wedding guests awaited on white wooden chairs while a harpist played.

You don't need to go to Europe for any of this.  It's right here, near University Circle in Cleveland.
